Pitches and Pitch Decks
Successful startup founders end up having a nesting doll set of pitches, from short to long. In this course we work on a 60-second version and a 3-minute version. If you are taking the class for a grade, you’ll need to turn in a 3-minute pitch deck for me before our last night (could be a real venture or a fictional one). You can see my Fitaco pitch deck below as an example. Just 8-10 slides or so, demonstrating to me that you understood the concepts we discussed in the course.
Some of the things that might be in a 3-minute pitch include:
- Why are you the exactly the right entrepreneur for this venture?
- What problem are you solving?
- What’s your secret sauce?
- How will your venture make money?
- What does the current competitive landscape look like?
- How big is the opportunity?
- How are you going to efficiently acquire customers?
- What are your initial capital needs, and what milestone will that initial capital get you to?
